Add to your Wish List You will earn 899 points with this purchase Information 1 YEAR WARRANTY - FREE DELIVERY Offering long reach with an advanced feature-set and optical design, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO from Olympus is a versatile 80-300mm equivalent telephoto zoom for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras. As part of the PRO series of advanced lenses, this zoom distinguishes itself with a bright f/2.8 constant maximum aperture for consistent illumination throughout the zoom range to suit working in a variety of lighting conditions. Its optical design makes use of a series of aspherical and low dispersion glass elements to suppress chromatic and spherical aberrations for notable sharpness and clarity, and a ZERO coating is also used to reduce flare and ghosting for high contrast, color-accurate imaging. Complementing the optics, a dual VCM autofocus system offers fast and near-silent focusing performance to suit both stills and movie recording applications. A manual focus clutch permits quick switching between AF and MF, and a programmable L-Fn button avails lens-based control over shooting settings. The lens is also weather-sealed for working in trying conditions, and a removable rotating tripod collar is included for improved balance and support when working atop a tripod or monopod. Telephoto zoom is designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras and provides an 80-300mm equivalent focal length range. Bright f/2.8 constant maximum aperture suits working in a variety of lighting conditions throughout the zoom range. One aspherical ED (extra-low dispersion) element, two aspherical elements, one Super ED element, three ED elements, and one HD element are featured within the optical design to minimize both spherical and chromatic aberrations, distortion, and color fringing throughout the zoom range while also contributing to overall image sharpness, clarity, and color accuracy. A ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating has been applied to individual elements to minimize lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions. A Dual VCM (voice coil motor) system is used for quick and near-silent autofocus performance. By separating the focusing mechanism into two groups controlled by separate linear AF motors, focus speeds are faster and the friction-free movement is notably quieter to benefit video recording. Manual focus clutch lets you quickly pull the focusing ring into place for direct, intuitive focus control. Programmable L-Fn (lens function) button for easily accessible settings adjustment. Dust-, freeze-, and splash-proof design uses 11 separate seals to ensure the lens's performance in inclement and harsh conditions. Rounded nine-blade diaphragm produces a smooth bokeh quality. Removable rotating tripod collar offers a stable platform for working with this lens atop a tripod or monopod. Included lens hood collapses back onto the lens for a more compact profile when stored. Compatible with the optional M.Zuiko Digital MC-14 1.4x Teleconverter to further extend the reach to a 112-420mm equivalent focal length range. Specifications Brand: OLYMPUS Condition: New Product Code: 08300-00065-00 Reviews Customer reviews No reviews left yet Write a review Most RecentTop Rated Lovely, even just to look at, let alone use. It's sharp right through and delivers great results. Every other review Ive read and where complementary of this lens, is very accurate and I had read or watched several before taking the plunge myself. It balances well when mated to my Olympus EM1 mk3 but less so on my EM5 mk3 without the additional ECG-5 grip. With the grip, it's as good as with the EM1 Mk3 so I'd have no hesitation using this lens on either. Image quality is excellent. I haven't used it in full on sunlight yet, with it only being February and in Scotland (Think grey, rainy, cold), but it should provide good results again. The IBIS in the Olympus bodies are a boon for use with this non stabilised lens and Ive had no trouble in this regard when used as above and handheld. In fact, Ive used it far more handheld than on a tripod so far, but that use will come. The lens function button is easy to find without over reaching when. using the viewfinder and the rotating zoom and focus rings operate with a good degree of resistance thats not too loose nor notchy. As for the supplied hood, yes, it's a great idea the way it works, but it is a bit gimmicky to my mind and can easily be inadvertently rotated and dislodged in some bags. Ill use it in full knowledge of its potential for failure as described elsewhere, but have in advance and whilst they are still available, have ordered a third party hood as a safeguard in case the OEM hood were to ever fail. Ive also obtained the Olympus decor ring to cover the tripod collar studs and find the lens much more comfortable to use without the tripod collar attached and with the decor ring on. Its also a lovely looking bit of kit and for a design that goes back several years, looks like something that has just recently arrived, OK, Its an OM system version rather than the Olympus so it is actually newer in that sense, but the basic design is timeless. A great lens and Im so glad to have given in to temptation.
